Google Announced Gmail’s Dark Mode Theme for Android and iOS

2 min read

Finally, you can use Gmail in dark mode for a more comfortable reading experience. Following the dark mode theme from Instagram, a dark mode theme came to Gmail too. Google has released the dark mode theme for Gmail for Android 10 and iOS 11, 12 and 13.

For a few phones using Android 10, Gmail’s dark mode theme has been available for two weeks. Google has made it available in all Android 10 phones and iOS 11, 12 and 13 today.

If you’re using an Android 10 phone, just activate your phone’s dark mode to use Gmail’s dark mode theme. You can also activate the application’s dark mode theme from Gmail’s own settings menu without using your phone’s dark mode. When you turn on power-saving mode on Google Pixels, Gmail’s dark mode theme will be enabled. As you may know, black pixels consume less energy than white pixels.

iPhone users who use the iOS 11 and iOS 12 updates can open Gmail’s dark mode theme from the app’s settings. When iOS 13 users activate dark mode, Gmail’s dark mode will be active.

In addition, Google announced that Gmail will release the dark mode theme in 15 days for users of other Android and iOS versions.
